About FEGO

One opening, two seasons

Mesh from spring, padded from November

The mesh screen and the winter curtain are cut to the same garage sizes and hang on the same kind of strip. Many garages use both: air in summer, warmth in winter.

might be one of the least expensive, but one of my favorite purchases during this house renovation! Close to a perfect fit, but easy to adjust. A little bit long for my door opening, but that’s OK. Went up super easy, and the screen is stronger than I thought it would be. Closes up nicely when I go through and has kept my work area pretty much bug free! it has been up for a few weeks now, and I have pushed boards through the opening, loading and unloading what I need for the renovation and the screen has not torn or come down at all. Bonus… My dog won’t push through it, so she can roam freely in the garage while I’m working! Worth every penny!

Unfortunately no matter what brand you purchase, it may be the same outcome.I've tried several brands and they all eventually lead to this issue of the adhesive slipping away, likely from the heat. Once one piece or side starts to break, it all crumbles down and it just won't stick back up without another tape setup, which has to be done after getting the remains of the old one off which also takes a good amount of elbow grease. The adhesive the item comes with is not that great, and I recommend using another tape brand all together. Which I used for the middle portion and that stayed on very strong, I even had a hard time manually removing it.Apart from the adhesive issue is the issue of this being very non-resistant to wind. On days where it's very windy, the bottom portion can very easily slide into the garage, which makes it pretty annoying to close. The bottom portion just doesn't have enough weight to keep it grounded. And apart from that, the appearance is very strong. It kept a lot of annoying bugs out of my garage. It allowed me to at least walk out and keep the garage door open in this heat, which is very helpful. The installation for these are easy to follow at least. Unfortunately, it just does not last long enough for me to push its reliability, considering the price.

I was a bit skeptical, but did Not disappoint! Installs in a matter of minutes and not only does it keep the bugs out it allows airflow of having a regular screen, but the best part is it allows us to hang out in our garage on a fairly busy street in almost complete privacy. From the inside you can see out just as you can any screen. From the outside you cannot see in at all. Its perfect! Have not tested during night time with garage lights on, but I imagine as with any similar product there would be a little less privacy. Magnets stick together nicely so you don’t have to click them closed everytime someone goes in or out. Overall I absolutely love this product and 100% recommend if you enjoy spending time or do a lot of work in your garage and don’t want everyone driving by seeing you.

Super easy install. Works like a charm. We installed them on 2 French doors. We wish we put these up years ago. They keep out bugs and let the air flow. My dog uses them too. Works like a charm.

About the brand

Why FEGO makes screens for openings

A garage is a room with one wall missing

FEGO began with a garage that was too good to keep shut. With the door up it was the best room in the house on a summer evening, and also the one with the most mosquitoes. We wanted the door open and the insects out. Shutting the door meant heat and stale air, and leaving it up meant bites by nine o'clock.

A framed screen door for a sixteen-foot opening costs like a small renovation. So we made a mesh that hangs from a strip around the frame and opens down the middle on magnets. You walk through it with a box in both hands. It closes. That is the whole idea, and the FEGO name has been on it since 2020.

Fiberglass, because pets have claws

The first thing a screen meets is a dog that has not read the instructions. We use fiberglass mesh in our garage and door screens because it holds up to claws and to daily traffic better than polyester does.

A weighted bottom edge came next. A light mesh opens in every breeze. Ours carries weight along the bottom, so the magnets find each other again after the wind lets go. Storage straps along the top came with it, because a garage still has to take a car now and then.

Then people told us what else a doorway needs

A woman with a garage gym asked whether the neighbours had to watch. That became the privacy screen, with a silver face that hides the inside in daylight. A man who parks every day asked why he had to roll anything up. That became the sliding screen on a top track.

Winter brought the last request. Buyers in cold states wanted the same walk-through seam without the cold coming with it. We padded the curtain with cotton between two layers of Oxford fabric and cut it for doors and for garages.

Named by your opening, not by ours

Every size in the FEGO range is named for the opening it fits. A 16 x 7 ft screen is for a 16 x 7 ft door. The mesh itself is a little bigger, 16.3 x 7.15 ft, so it overlaps the frame. Order by the opening and the overlap takes care of itself.

Today we make screens and curtains for 14 garage openings and 12 door sizes, 53 options in all. If your opening sits between two of them, take the larger one: a little extra mesh at the sides does no harm, and a gap does.

  • Top track, slides aside

    FEGO Sliding Garage Door Screen

A garage screen on a top track: slide it to one side like a curtain and drive in, no rolling up.

    from $59.84

What a FEGO screen is not

It is not a garage door and it is not a storm door. It locks nothing and it will not stop a determined raccoon. The adhesive strip can let go in strong summer heat, so the box includes push pins and we tell you to use them.

Buyers in the southern sun tell us a mesh screen lasts them about a year before they replace it. We would rather you know that now. For the price of a dinner out, you get a season or two of open-door evenings.

Before you choose a FEGO screen

Which FEGO screen should I get for a garage?

The Magnetic Garage Door Screen for airflow, from $35.14. Choose the Privacy screen if the garage faces the street, the Sliding screen if you park daily, and the Winter curtain to hold heat.

What sizes do FEGO garage door screens come in?

The FEGO range covers 14 garage openings from 8 x 7 ft to 18 x 8 ft. One-car sizes run from 8 to 12 ft wide, two-car sizes from 15 to 18 ft.

What is the difference between a garage door screen and a magnetic screen door?

Size and weight. A FEGO garage door screen spans 8 to 18 ft and has a weighted bottom, while the Magnetic Screen Door fits one entry door from 30 to 38 inches wide.
